Netflix leads payment platforms followed by Amazon Prime

According to the results of Geca’s latest OTT Barometer report, Netflix continues to lead OTT (over the top) platforms with 59.9% of total subscribers. Amazon Prime continues to be very close to the top, standing at 41%.

These results from the second wave of the study, conducted in September, also indicate user preferences, such as having all chapters available on the same day or even accepting advertising in exchange for a reduction in the monthly fee.

In terms of series, the most consumed and therefore the one that has catapulted Netflix has been “La casa de papel” about 22% of subscribers say they have seen the series. In this second wave it has overtaken HBO’s “Game of Thrones” which was at number one on the podium.

The Spanish series represent 20% of the total titles and “La casa de papel” (21.9%), “Las chicas del cable” (13.2%) and “Vis a Vis” (12.1%) occupy the first three places.
